CellRev's proprietary media additive AggreGuard™, controls and reduces aggregation in microcarrier-based cell cultures.
AggreGuard™ is a blend of wildtype bacterial enzymes, allowing for a gentler digestion of extracellular matrix components reducing cell-to-cell attachment which initiates aggregation, without affecting cell-to-surface attachment.
This product was developed and validated for use in VERO protocols, with continuous expansion to find applications for other cell types.

Prevention of microcarrier aggregation facilitates diffusion of nutrients, waste products and gas exchange. CellRev’s AggreGuard™ actively promotes a more favourable bioprocess with up to 1.8-fold more cells viable by end-of-process.
AggreGuard™ can be used as a prophylactic or added later in the process. The addition strategy is dependent on cell type factors (i.e., doubling time; extracellular matrix composition) and cell-microcarrier pairing.
