FAQs
Yes, our technology is suitable for a wide range of surfaces, from flat to 3D. We can provide a microcarrier solution.
We have tested surfaces made of different materials, mainly treated and untreated TCP, PMMA and glass. As long as our reagent can interact with the cells then we can detach them from any surface including other cells.
It’s the % that allows for a continuous detachment without any risk of cell overgrowth. If cells become overconfluent might not detach as single-cells but in clamps, and that might impact the steady-state as well as the downstream process.
We have tested compatibility with multiple cell lines including iPSCs, VERO, and HACAT cells but we are confident that we can work with any adherent cell. Please request a free of charge compatability assessment for peace of mind.
The same skills that are currently required to run a batch process. However, as part of commissiong a CellRev processing platform, your team will be fully trained in it’s operation.
We have not tested all adherent cells for technology compatibility yet. However, literature research tells us that the majority if not all should be compatible. CellRev will undertake the technology compatibility assessment before any financial transaction takes place with a customer. Aside from compatibility, there are some cell types that are more suitable to be expanded in a continuous system, such as immortalised cell lines or pluripotent stem cells (i.e. suitable for long term expansion).
The dosing is cell type-specific, and to run at steady-state will always be present in the cell culture media at the same concentration.
The first R&D contract you sign with CellRev will be to conduct the necessary process consultation, design, and development before handing the processing platform over. So, you will know the exact parameters to run the process continuously at steady-state.
The reagent will be in the continuous centrifuge discharge and traces might remain after centrifugation if generating a cell pellet downstream. These amounts should not influence the functionality of the cells, but a wash might be integrated in the SOP if required.
Based on the cells that we have worked with so far we are confident that the answer is no. Literature also suggests that it is unlikely, but we always check this prior to commissioning the process for customers.
Yes, the reagent can be purchased at GMP standard.
Yes, CellRev will supply this.
CellRev, and their operating partners, provide ongoing process and equipment support. This will be made clear in your services agreement or terms of purchase.
Yes, CellRev can provide a short term loan of the equipment prior to purchase. This should be discussed with a sales representative.
CellRev can demonstrate continuous running of 60 days, but as part of the process design phase of development, the CellRev team will assess your process inputs and production output requirements prior to recommending operating procedures.
